The international jury of experts in environmental matters, technological innovation and trend setting decided the best products and services nominated by the exhibiting companies.

DICK SPIERENBURG, Designer

Dick Spierenburg studied Architecture in Delft and Interior & Product Design in The Hague. His furniture and lighting designs are in the collections of premium interior brands, for over 25 years.
Involvement in imm cologne started as creative consultant. It became the highlight of communication. Contemporary design sector Pure was developed into a strong brand. In 2011 Dick Spierenburg was appointed creative director by Koelnmesse, and in this role also created concepts for the workplace focussed interior design show Orgatec.
Jury participations include Dutch Design Award, German Design Graduates, Interzum Award, Red Dot and Arte Laguna Prize.

FRANCO BULIAN, Director of Catas

Franco Bulian, director of CATAS, Europe's largest laboratory in the wood and furniture sector. At this institute, he has acquired a vast knowledge of materials and technologies in this sector, thanks also to the numerous research projects in which he has participated during his career. Franco Bulian is the coordinator of the UNI Working Group on Finishes (Wood and Furniture) and is also a member of CEN/TC139/WG2 (Coatings for exterior wood) and CEN/TC112/WG5 (Formaldehyde emission from panels). Since 2007, Franco Bulian has been a contract professor and holder of the course "Furniture Materials and Technologies" of the Double Degree of the Universities of Trieste and Oswestfalen-Lippe (Germany).

JESSICA ALEXANDER, Director of Special Projects National Bed Federation

Jessica Alexander has been involved with the UK furniture industry for almost 45 years. She is currently director of special projects at the National Bed Federation (NBF), the trade association for UK bed manufacturers and their suppliers; a director of the Mattress Recycling Association, which administers the Register of Approved Mattress Recyclers (RAMR); a director of the British Furniture Confederation (BFC), a consortium of UK trade associations formed to liaise with the UK government on policy, where she is sustainability lead; A member of the Court and co-chair of the Climate Change Committee at the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers.

MARIO BISSON, POLI.design

Mario Bisson, associate professor at Politecnico di Milano, pertains to the Department of Design. He has been teaching in the School of Design since A/A 1996/97 Product Design, Color and Perception, Visual Elements for Design, Morphology of Components.
Color of the Department of Design at Politecnico di Milano; Scientific Director of the Interdepartmental Lab of Environmental Design & Multisensory Experience; Director of the Master in Sensorial Surface Design at Polidesign.

SASCHA PETERS, Innovation consultant, and materials expert Haute Innovation

Mechanical engineer, Managing Owner of the company Haute Innovation, Lecturer and Honorary member of the Red Dot Award jury.
Professor Peters is one of the most renowned materials and technology experts in Europe. Over the past 20 years, Peters has been able to gain extensive experience in various roles as a scientist, innovation consultant and design engineer, which he uses for clients in the automotive, construction and materials industries.

SEZGIN AKSU, Designer

After studies in Germany, France and Italy and work experience in Milan, in collaboration with Studio Michele De Lucchi for more than 10 years, Sezgin AKSU and Silvia SUARDI open their own studio based in Milan, AKSU/SUARDI. AKSUSUARDI collaborates with private clients, public bodies and companies, both private and state. AKSUSUARDI is very open in the search for new concepts, new solutions and mostly collaborates closely with its customers.
